Internet challenges are trends and hypes that come and go, but there’s no denying that they’ve been an essential part of the internet and social culture over the past few years. Just think about the Ice Bucket Challenge, the cinnamon challenge, the mannequin challenge or even something such as planking!

The newest online rage is “The Git-Up Challenge”, which is based on a popular song by singer Blanco Brown called “The Get Up”. The catchy song is accompanied by some typical dance moves, but the challenge sometimes inspires people to freestyle the dances and to put their own spin on the track.

One boy named Jackson Smoak accepted the Git-Up Challenge and the result is absolutely amazing and incredibly smooth.

The young man, dressed up in jeans, a white shirt, sunglasses, and a cowboy hat, has definitely taken the internet by storm with his impressive dance moves.

At the beginning of the song, he doesn’t go full-speed just yet. He starts slowly and you can see him mouthing along with the words. And even though this boy may look cute, his dance moves are absolutely smooth and some people even argue that it’s one of the better Git-Up challenge videos out there.

The performance is just a joy to watch – and his facial expressions and little nods definitely add a finishing touch.

When the song starts to speed up, so does Jackson and his dance moves.

It doesn’t take long before the boy starts sliding from one half of the living room to the other, and he definitely knows his footwork. It’s something that you wouldn’t expect to see from someone under the age of ten because he has a strong feeling for rhythm. It’s as if he practiced the performance dozens of times, yet he also gives the impression that he’s dancing like nobody’s watching.

The two-stepping cowboy moves are just too adorable, and the talented young dancer follows the directions of the song perfectly.

“Now lean back, put your hips in the Woo-hoo-hoo, let’s have some fun,” the song says, and that’s exactly what he does. Jackson is clearly having a ton of fun doing the Git-Up challenge, although you can see him trying to keep a serious look on his face.

When he starts throwing his glasses away and then disposes of the cowboy hat a couple of seconds later, the video becomes even more amazing and cool.

Jackson’s video is one of the more popular ones out there with the #gitupchallenge hashtag, with almost a million views on YouTube. The young boy has definitely taken the internet by storm, as everyone in the comment section praised his talented dance abilities.

“Oh Jackson you’re a great dancer, your video is one of the best out here. I really enjoyed it and you were really brave dancing all by yourself,” one person wrote.

Jackson absolutely nailed it with the Git-Up challenge, and it’s not too late to accept the challenge yourself. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube explaining the classic dance moves, and perhaps you’ll end up becoming an internet superstar just like this boy.
