Young father lays down his life trying to rescue his 3-year-old son who fell from a bridge

For many of us, our father was one of our first role models.

Dads are people who we always look up to. Even when we are old, we still admire them. They are generally the first role model for their sons and a superhero for their daughters.
Being with dad is always a special feeling.

Nothing can scare you when youâre with your dad. All fear just vanishes in thin airâthat is a dadâs magic.
They are willing to go any length for their kids, even if it means death.

A story of a heroic dad from Minnesota shows why fathers are the best.

There is no price a dad isnât willing to pay for his children.
Chris sacrificed himself in order to protect his son.

This incident took place in Long Bridge in Detroit Lakes.
Chris and his family were out for a walk with his 3-year-old son, Aston.

Aston, as he was just 3 years old, was playing around the bridge. While he was playing, he crawled through the rail and fell. A passerby saw Aston and immediately informed Chris.
âAshton, being a curious, adventurous, 3-year-old, crawled through the rail and fell. Someone saw it and Chris went over instantlyâ said Ryan Olson, Chris Schultzâs brother.
When Chris saw Anton, he quickly went to the rescue.

Chris didnât waste a single second contemplating the situation. All he saw was his son who needed help.
Every parent would panic when they see their child in danger, and most would do what Chris did: jump in and help, not caring about anything else.
Chrisâs efforts werenât in vain as he managed to save his son.

But it cost him his life.
Chris was struggling to keep his head above water. He handed his son off to a woman, who was waiting near the shore.
âChris was holding on to her as well. He just couldnât hang on and he let go.â Ryan Olson.
Chris didnât have enough left in him and there was no way he could keep his head above water, so he decided to let go. His son was safe and thatâs mattered to him the most.
Chris wasnât just a great dad, but also an excellent human being.

By all accounts, Chris was a genuinely kind and caring man.
âChris would do that for your kids, he would do that for my kid, he would do that for anyoneâs kid. Heâs always helped his whole life. Heâs helped everyone.â Ryan Olson
Chris helped people even after he died by donating his organs.
According to his brother, Chris dedicated his life to helping people. Even after his death, he gifted people with a normal life.
âHis eyes, for sure, I believe theyâre going to donate ligaments, some different tissues, possibly bone marrow. So, heâs still going to help some more people out.â Ryan Olson.
