Young sisters jump into action to save their 2-year-old brother after he sneaks into the pool

Spending time with family brings a lot of benefits.

You discover so much more about yourself and each member of the family. Bonding allows the opportunity to get to know each other better, consequently teaching better communication, empathy, and compassion.

You don’t have to come up with unique activities or go places, either. Simply watching a movie together at home, cooking together, or engaging in outdoor sports is enough. That’s what makes family time wonderful – it doesn’t require much other than everyone’s presence.

It also strengthens the love and concern we have for eachother.

Take sisters Bella and Priscilla, aged 6 and 9.

They’re used to having fun together and being with their mom, and youngest sibling, Maximus. Because of this, they’ve learned to look out for each other.

Their bond was only strengthened by a close call that took place in their home.

One August morning, the family decided it would be fun to spend the day swimming. When the two girls were about to conclude the swimming session, their two-year-old brother Maximus decided he wasn’t quite done yet.

Security footage shows that the toddler wandered off and made his way back into the yard where the uncovered swimming pool was. Recalling what happened, their mom shared,

“My kids had just gone swimming, I brought my then 2-year-old inside to get dressed. I went to get his clothes and, before I realized it, he ran back outside.”

Maximus was seen standing on the steps of the pool and diving back into the water.

But before anything could happen, Bella and Priscilla had already rushed to his side.

Footage showed the two girls in action.

9-year-old Bella can be seen jumping in after Maximus and gently pushing the toddler towards the side of the pool where Priscilla was waiting. She then grabs a towel and proceeds to wrap it around her brother. Their relieved mom added:

“Thank god my then 9-year-old daughter Bella and 6-year-old daughter Priscilla were still outside and saw Maximus go into the pool.”

“I came out shortly after and was so proud of my girls but also so upset at myself. I should have closed the pool and will always remember how close I came to losing my baby.”

Because of Bella and Priscilla, Maximus emerged from the situation unharmed.

Moreover, the incident moved their mom to sign him up for swimming lessons. Maximus sure is lucky to have two brave sisters who know what to do in emergency situations!

While it’s easy to comment on how the mom should not have let the toddler out of her sight, one must also remember that toddlers are quick. It really was a good thing Bella and Priscilla were around to make sure nothing happened to their baby brother.
