4-year-old Wonder Woman 'flies' onto stage and performs dance with adorably powerful moves
Watching kids do the things that they love is easily one of the best things that we adults can witness.
Who wouldn’t want to see someone who’s found their passion relishing in it? There’s truly something special about seeing a child discover their passion for something. Call it a spark, if you will. But there is definitely something that happens at that moment.
You might recall that feeling yourself when you were a child and if you’re lucky enough, you were able to make a career out of that passion. Not everybody may be so lucky.
We sure hope 4-year-old Roxy Brennan will be one of those lucky ones!
At such a young age, she’s discovered her passion for dance and it shows! When performing, there’s an energy present that is only visible when someone is truly having fun and this little girl is having a ball!
At a dance competition hosted by C & C Dance Company in Baltimore, Brennan performed to the classic, “Holding Out For A Hero” by Bonnie Tyler. She was competing in the Petite Primary Jazz Solo competition.
Though the song is about a woman waiting for her hero, Brennan is the hero in this routine. She sports a marvelous Wonder Woman costume! Designed by SoRoxy Designs, it’s complete with the blue and white skirt, the red top with the gold emblem, the gold headband with the red pearl, and of course, the iconic red cape.
To add a child’s touch to the costume, it was adorned with sparkles – perfect for a star!
Though Brennan was act number 146, she was definitely one to remember. As soon as the announcer introduces her, cheers filled the auditorium.
The song starts off slow and soft. Brennan’s movements echo this as she moves with precision. She too takes her time – unrushed.
As she performs one-legged raises whilst not losing her balance, the audience cheers even more.
The cutest part, however, is when the tempo changes to a frantic pace. But before it does, the music cuts off and little Brennan begins to shake her hips wildly before the song’s downbeat kicks in. It’s utterly adorable. The crowd laughs innocently as she continues the movement.
Brennan performs the routine perfectly. She flexes her tiny muscles and hits every mark with a fierceness that only Wonder Woman could. It becomes even more clear why she sports the costume. Obviously, she’s Wonder Woman’s protege.
Brennan uses the entire length of the stage. She doesn’t hold back, clapping her hands to the beat and strongly standing her ground. At one point she flexes her arm muscles and kisses each of them. Many of us know that many muscular men do this when flexing and posing.
She sure knows how to entertain the audience!
She performs tumbles, cartwheels, and backflips. All without fumbling! Eventually, the cape comes off and becomes part of her routine. It sort of acts like a pom-pom as she flings it around.
To end the impressive performance, she throws the cape to the ground and fiercely poses at the end with her hand to the sky. She looks just like a superhero!
All of her hard work paid off. She won first place overall and Miss Petite Title Winner for Best Costume!
Way to go, Roxy! Keep up the excellent work!
