Panda cubs are incredibly cute animals. There’s just one problem with looking after them: they’re so, so naughty.

There are many videos online that show panda cubs getting into trouble and annoying their keepers.

When people start to work for zoos with pandas, they must be desperate to work with the cubs. But as videos like the one below show, that soon changes. In fact, any zookeeper that knows what panda cubs are really like wants to keep clear of their enclosure.

The bright young zookeeper in this article was really looking forward to spending time with the panda cubs.

His first task sounded easy: give the panda cubs some medicine. It turned out to be incredibly difficult.

At first, he hugged one of the panda cubs tight so that it could accept the medicine.

But the cub knew what the zookeeper was trying to do, so he struggled and flinched. The zookeeper kept on spilling the medicine as this happened.

But then another panda cub approached the keeper and the hugged cub.

He could see that his brother wanted to get out of the zookeeper’s grip, so he thought he’d lend a hand. He snuck up to the zookeeper and tried to push him off of his brother.

Soon, the zookeeper found himself grappling with two panda cubs. He did his best to gently get one to back away. But it was incredibly difficult and strangely heartwarming!

For a few seconds, the second cub rolled on his back. So the keeper tried to force-feed the first cub the medicine. But in no time, the second cub had climbed onto the zookeeper’s back and started nipping at his scalp.

So the zookeeper grabbed this cub and twisted him around onto his lap. He then tried to give the second panda some medicine.

The cub covered his mouth with his hand and kept on flailing. Then the first cub leaped up and started nipping at the zookeeper’s arm, which was trying to hold the second cub’s head in place.

The zookeeper then tried standing up and towering above the cubs to administer the medicine.

But then both of the cubs started pushing at the zookeeper, knocking him off balance.

After much more struggle, the zookeeper was finally able to get both of the cubs to take their medicine. He also realized why none of his colleagues wanted what had sounded like an amazing job!

A local news network obtained this footage and uploaded it to its YouTube channel. The footage soon went viral. To date, it has managed to gain over 15 million views. It also has 54,000 likes and 2,600 comments. People have been saying things like this:

Videos like this prove that so-called dream jobs are often much more stressful than we imagine.

That’s true for any profession. Not just zookeeping. But while giving panda cubs medicine seems like a nightmare, let’s be honest, it also looks like something that anyone would want to try at least once!

Just imagine what the people who knew that poor zookeeper said when they saw him after that shift, covered in bite marks.

They must have asked what animal had viciously attacked him. And he’d have awkwardly had to reply that it was two baby pandas!
