Observant dog hailed as hero after she alerts owner to ‘deadly animal’ under chair
Dogs are not just adorable home companions, they are indeed man’s best friend and they have proven this over and over again.
Perhaps, the most notable trait of dogs is their unmatched loyalty. They wouldn’t just protect their owners from intruders, they’d even put their lives on the line just to keep their humans safe and unharmed.
How many documented videos have you seen that proved a dog’s loyalty and heroism?
For the longest time that security cameras, smartphones, video recorders, and other video-recording devices have been invented, there have been tons of heart-stopping clips showing brave dogs protecting their owners.
We’ve seen dogs fighting other dogs to protect their owners, dogs comforting their sad owners, dogs fending off wild animals like bears, and snakes, and a whole bunch more.
This clip is just another proof of how far a dog could go above and beyond the word “loyalty.”
It’s a 19-second clip titled “Deadly Brown Snake” from a YouTube channel called ‘Drew’ with over 3.7 million views since its upload date back in 2016.
In what seemed to be footage taken from a home security camera, the man in the video was comfortably seated on the porch in their front yard.
Chilling with him was his dog, but within seconds, a brown snake entered the camera frame and was headed toward the man.
Thankfully, the dog’s senses were on full alert, so the pooch quickly tailed the crawling predator and alerted her owner who was just inches away from being bitten by the deadly snake.
The man reciprocated his loyal dog’s concern as he also pulled his pooch away from the snake.
If it wasn’t because of the dog’s awareness of that dangerous situation, the video could’ve ended pretty badly for the man.
According to Australia’s Billabong Sanctuary, “Brown snake is the common name for Pseudonaja, a genus of highly venomous snakes that includes the Eastern brown snake, considered the second most venomous land snake in the world.”
There are nine species of Pseudonaja, and they’re so dangerous, that even the juveniles can administer deadly bites.
The man was beyond thankful because his dog saved him from danger, and if worse ended worst – death.
“Had a really close encounter with a brown snake today. After watching the footage on the security cam it looks like our dog stopped it going inside and if it wasn’t for her I would have probably kept looking at my phone. I think we were both a bit lucky today,” the man wrote in the video’s description.
The most loyal creatures?
Dogs are arguably the most loyal creatures in the world, wouldn’t you agree?
Their loyalty comes from within and there’s no such thing as one breed being more loyal than the other breed.
According to Hills Pet, “Now you might be asking yourself if certain breeds are more loyal dogs. The truth is that all dogs are pack creatures and are devoted to whomever they see as their leader. So, while some breeds may seem more affectionate or willing to please their pet parent than others, all dogs are capable of being loyal. Hopefully, a dog’s loyalty always gets reciprocated by their owner because if they are called “man’s best friend”, then we should be the same to them.
