People discover missing cat – right next to its missing poster

If you own a cat, you know very well that they love hiding in the most unlikely places: boxes, basements, in the corners of closets, under beds, inside empty grocery bags, you name it!

Also, if you own a cat, you know you couldn’t bear the thought of losing it. But what if you thought you lost it but in reality, you hadn’t? Does it sound chaotic? Well, welcome to the cat world!

The kitty in the picture is clearly posing next to her own missing poster. A passer-by noticed it as they were walking past the house and realized the cat on the poster was the cat posing next to it, so, obviously, they had to take a picture and let the internet know.

The photo confused everyone and it caused various reactions, but mostly laughter funny comments about what the cat was thinking when she was sitting next to the poster.

“Laughed all day,” a Twitter user commented, while another one wrote “That’s a good selfie.”

However, there were a couple of people who suggested it could be her missing sibling.

“Perhaps it’s the missing one’s twin?” someone wrote.

Original as it may look, it was not the first time a “missing” cat was captured posing next to her “missing” poster. In 2013, someone else took a picture of a similar black and white cat, sitting next to a poster. Again, it was obvious that the cat was the one in the picture, and then, too, people were confused over the incident.

Some laughed it off, but some others took it so seriously they suggested the cat needed to escape the house badly.

“Cat just wanted to feel missed,” a user wrote under the picture posted on Imgur. On the other hand, on Diply, there were those who wrote things like “The cat is clearly looking for a new owner” or “It’s not funny when you think your cat is missing – it’s heartbreaking. Find something else to joke about.”

So, let’s forget about how sad it makes you feel when you lose (or think you have lost) a pet. Let’s focus on the actual incident here. The thing is that we have “missing” posters and “found” cats, proudly posing next to them. Why would this happen?

As partly explained above, it could be the case that the cats were hiding so well and in such an uncommon place that their owners couldn’t find them. Alternatively, maybe the cats in the posters are indeed these cats’ siblings and they just look like each other so much. Finally, we wouldn’t be surprised if the owners simply forgot to take down the posters or if they just wanted to prank passers-by in this way.

Whatever the explanation to all this is, one thing is for sure: cats have awesome hiding skills, while they also seem to have a sense of humor- or rather serious sense of irony. Whatever, we still love them and we’re their devoted slaves.
