Colin Hanks shares a creative DIY face mask – no sewing required

COVID-19 has made people run to the stores hoarding toilet paper, cleaning products, masks, and gloves. With this high demand, healthcare equipment has even become scarce. As states like California announce it is mandatory to wear a mask while in public, people are desperate to find masks.

With empty shelves and tons of time that has sparked some creative juices for people.

People are whipping out their old fabrics and sewing machines to make masks for healthcare workers, chefs, and neighbors.

But if you haven’t learned to sew while in quarantine have no fear.

Now if you’ve been watching the news or on social media, I’m sure you’ve heard his father Tom Hanks and stepmother Rita Wilson both tested positive for coronavirus while filming in Australia.

The news devastated fans all across the world.

But thankfully they have slowly but surely recovered from this fatal virus. As for Colin, he has come up with an innovative way to make a mask no sewing machine required! Colin went to Instagram to give the public a step by step tutorial on how to make with a hankerchief or a bandana and two hair ties or rubber bands.

Now, start digging through your closets and drawers to find those extra hankerchiefs and bandanas. This simple DIY has made quite an impact with over 70,000 likes on Instagram people all over the world have made their very own reusable mask.

Just a few easy folds of a bandana can help keep you safe during the global pandemic.

Colin even informs his audience to put that kerchief mask into the washing machine after it’s been used.

The Centers for Disease Control have advised that cloth masks are great to use for people who aren’t exhibiting symptoms. Medical grade and N95 masks have become so scarce that healthcare workers are even in a shortage. While others are hoarding these important masks for profit or just no good reason.

We must protect ourselves and help our healthcare professionals.

Hospitals have even asked for people to donate masks and/or sew their own. That call to action has gone completely viral with people making their very own personalized masks.
