Get a glimpse of this couples self-renovated 1984 Toyota van
We’ve all fantasized about buying a van to travel the world in. A portable home seems like the ultimate dream and more and more people are making that dream a reality. YouTube is filled with van renovation videos and how you can make your van a great place to live in.
Meet Aiden & Nikola!
As for this Australian couple Aiden and Nicola, they know first hand how much work goes into creating the perfect van home. They spent 2 years renovating their 1984 Toyota van it couldn’t be more beautiful. When they decided to sell they’re Mitsubishi van for something a little more suited for everyday living they found their dream van now known as ‘Frank’.
The Toyota Coaster van was white and a little rough around the edges when they first bought it.
But Aiden and Nikola’s vision was ready to thrive and Frank was their perfect match. They went right into renovating without much planning which definitely worked in their favor. This allowed for plenty of new skills while defeating the obstacles of renovating a van.
Bargain Hunting
Aiden and Nikola tried to thrift as much as possible to help furnish the van sustainably and cost-effectively. They found a beautiful wood slab (which is now their countertop) on the side of the road for $150! They used the drawers left from the previous owners giving them a new touch more their style.
The couple even found an incredible basin sink at a vintage antique store.
The van really became a collection of Aiden and Nikola’s own unique style. After seeing these pictures you’ll want to take a full tour of ‘Frank’.
This van couldn’t get any more groovy!
Aiden and Nikola were up for all of ‘Franks’ challenges. Even if that meant sanding down every piece of the van… Yes, even repainting the entire thing. Plain old white wasn’t very fitting for this couple’s dream van. So, they decided on a very light greenish-blue. The color was the cherry on top for all of their hard work!
Dream Van
Now they get to marvel at ‘Frank’ and cherish the days and nights they spent perfecting him. Their rustic van cottage will have you dreaming about life on the road. Aiden and Nikola are actually yet to travel through the beautiful country of Australia in Frank.
Pup Approved
While they live and work in Mareeba on an organic lemon myrtle farm Frank is their stationary home on the property. Which couldn’t be more perfect for Aiden, Nikola, and their sweet dog Luna! They dream to one day roam all across their native land of Australia and revel in all it has to offer.
‘Frank’ is the trusty steed to take this family of three anywhere the road turns.
Aiden and Nikola made their dream become a beautiful reality. We are so in awe of their incredible #frankthetank they call him. If you’re not looking for vans on Craiglist after seeing this beauty you might want to start.
