The heroics of a dog in Poland have not gone unnoticed. Even today, over 4 years later, a video of the pup saving his farm’s chickens from a fox is still being viewed.

The footage has now been seen over 5.2 million times.

The enemy approaches

It’s a scenario that plays out all the time, no doubt. But this video is special for the sheer number of angles we manage to get on the whole event.

“That little farm [has] more cameras than most banks…” marveled one commenter.

Another viewer posited that there must be a golden goose in there somewhere.

We really do get every angle – and there’s even a live feed from the chicken coop itself! (Because who doesn’t want to watch their chickens live their lives all day?)

The fox and the henhouse

The video begins as a small fox sneaks past a fence and onto the farm.

It’s chicken time!

And while he’s no doubt thinking about his tasty snack, he fails to account for one important thing.

A dog named Mobi.

But before his encounter, he makes it pretty close to the pen, sneaking around the perimeter and thinking of all the tasty, unsuspecting chickens within his grasp.

He edges closer and finally decides to go for it, running into the pen to pluck out his favorite.

His confidence level is high, but clearly he’s taken his eyes off his surroundings.

Meanwhile, back in the chicken coop, we have a live feed of the chickens where they’re doing absolutely nothing except pecking around, completely unaware that there’s a fox outside their door.

But they have an ace up their sleeves that Mr. Fox doesn’t seem to know about, so maybe they know that they can rest easy.

Mobi to the rescue

Suddenly, the fox encounters the farm’s protector as Mobi goes marching out to tell the intruder to get lost.

He’s big, but he doesn’t look particularly mean.

And yet it’s clear that Mobi means business!

The fox nearly gets his goose cooked as the dog runs after him. He’s going to chase him off the whole property and give him a “and don’t you come back”!

Both animals are a complete blur as they go dashing by with the fox trying to run for his life.

It appears that Mobi isn’t interested in much more than teaching him a lesson, so chasing him off is the end of the matter.

And that fox looks like he’s running fast and far!

The viral video

Once the video started to go viral, the original poster felt compelled to update people on the stars of the show.

But first, he gives us a link to what appears to be a perpetual live feed of his chicken coop. (We tuned it at night and didn’t see much, but we hope you witness an exciting moment if you click.)

Then, he informs viewers that he got some new chickens in April of 2018. And they’re pretty nice!

Alas, the very last of the chickens from our video passed away (hopefully not from fox-inflicted injuries) in August of 2019.

They were preceded in death by the wonderful Mobi, who died of cancer at the ripe old age of 15 in April of 2019.

But the good news is that there are new chickens, so there’s still a reason to visit the live feed!
