For many former stray dogs, getting adopted is one of the best days of their lives. Life in a loving home is far different than life on the street and is a reason for rescued dogs to have a smile on their face. For a dog in Peru, there was another reason that they were smiling.

Luna gets adopted

Luna was adopted by her mom, Anna Carolina Luna, and her fiancé in Brazil. They adored Luna so much and she became an important part of their life. Once Luna had become a part of their family, it was felt she should be introduced to the other members of the family, Including Anna’s grandmother.

Leaving Luna at grandma’s house

Before too long, Luna had grown accustomed to being around Anna’s grandma to the point where Anna felt safe leaving Luna at her grandmother’s while she went out after lunch. At the same time, Anna’s grandmother decided to lay down and take a nap.

Luna gets into a little mischief

“As usual, she put her dentures under the pillow so as not to lose them,” Anna told The Dodo.

Luna, still awake, saw a golden opportunity to cause a little mischief. So, while Anna’s grandmother slept, Luna got into something she shouldn’t have.

Upon waking up, Anna’s grandmother reached for her dentures. Not feeling them under her pillow where she had left them, she grew alarmed.

“She was pretty desperate that she couldn’t find her dentures,” Anna said. “She and my mom searched everywhere. They searched for hours.”

The real culprit is discovered

Meanwhile, Anna had returned, not knowing of the drama that had gone down. She also noticed that Luna was suspiciously absent. So, she went looking for her around the house. And that is when she found her. Of course, finding Luna solved the mystery of the missing dentures.

“I found Luna sitting in the armchair with Grandma’s teeth in her mouth,” Anna said. “She didn’t want to give them back!”

Finally, after a little struggling, Anna was able to return her grandma’s dentures. And while they were covered in dog saliva, the dentures hadn’t been damaged in any way. As for Luna, while she missed her new teeth, she was back to her normal toothy smile.

As for Luna’s mischief, the family couldn’t really stay mad at her. They all saw the humor in the incident.

“We all laughed a lot! We all love animals,” Anna said.

All was well at the end of the day

Luna even got some Internet fame from the denture-stealing incident, appearing on TV and in various news stories around the world. Chances are, Luna’s family will be keeping a closer eye on her, especially when she is at Anna’s grandmother’s house.
