Tough K9 instantly changes character at home to take care of his baby human sibling

A police dog or more popularly known as K9 is a dog that acts as an aide to police officers. They are trained to be tough and strong in times of police missions like search and rescue operations.

Usually, they choose dog breeds that are big in sizes like Belgian Malinois, Bloodhound, Labrador, Rottweilers, and German Shepherd.

Clinton Police Department’s Corporal Jason Frey and Sonny, his K9, are one unstoppable duo whenever they’re in uniform. They’re always together during training exercises and patrols.

The most beautiful thing about their relationship is that Corporal Frey and Sonny share more than just their duties in the police department.

They are partners and most importantly, best buddies. Above everything else that they share together, loyalty always comes first.

Corporal Frey trusts Sonny with his life as much as the K9 trusts him with his.

He shared with The Dodo that although Sonny doesn’t understand human language, the dog still seemed to feel his emotions. Whenever he’s feeling happy or upset, Sonny would just sit back and listen to him say his feelings out.

There is literally nothing he could possibly wish for in life, except one – a child.

When that wish finally came true, everything turned into rainbow colors.

Corporal Frey and his wife, Lainey, were then blessed with a beautiful little princess named Reagan.

In fact, during Lainey’s pregnancy, they noticed a sudden change in Sonny’s behavior.

He became more vigilant and more careful with his movements. Sometimes, he would even lean his head on Lainey’s tummy as if he knew what was coming

Although the couple wasn’t completely sure yet as to how Sonny would react once he knew that he was no longer the baby of the family.

What they’re sure of though was that their lives will be tenfolds brighter and more colorful than it’s ever been.

Welcoming the newest member of the family, baby Reagan.

As it turned out, Corporal Frey wasn’t wrong when he trusted Sonny and took him as his partner.

Upon seeing Reagan, his toughness during police missions and training exercises vanished. In front of their new baby, Sonny was the most loving and gentle dog ever.

He eventually turned into a furry big brother to Reagan and there’s nothing in this world that he would do but watch and protect her.

The then family of three became a family of four and the transition turned out flawlessly, thanks to Sonny’s help.

Since Reagan came into their life, she and her big furry brother started creating beautiful and unforgettable memories together as siblings.

They’d nap and cuddle, and share special occasions like birthdays and the Holiday season. Surely, for the years to come, Sonny and Reagan would be sticking with each other no matter how tough the going gets, they will always treat each other as siblings.

In fact, one viewer online couldn’t agree more with that.

“Thats one little girl that will have no worries for years to come as he will protect her as much or more than his partner. All dogs should be part of the family and not just treated as an animal that you share your free time with. Also this shows you that well trained dogs no matter what work they are trained for if done right only think of it as a game and enjoy the work and when not at work they can relax and be good normal house pets.”
