Man have the crowd roaring with hilarious synchronized swim routine

Athletes require such a level of fitness and grace to be successful synchronized swimmers. The self-discipline and group training needed from swimmers to execute a performance takes ages to perfect.

For the audience, it’s akin to watching an elegant dance routine, like at a ballet or concert. It truly is an art form.

Being a hybrid between swimming, dance, and gymnastics, it doesn’t just require a ridiculous amount of endurance and flexibility, but also the ability to hold your breath underwater for long periods of time.

In theory, any experienced swimmer could give it a shot. As long as they’re willing to put in the hard work, long hours and early mornings, they could master the art of synchronization and give a memorable performance.

But it takes a lot of work to perfect it like these professional women!

One day, some clever guys with a serious sense of humor, had a stroke of genius. (Like a breast stroke, not a real stroke… get it?)

They decided to give it a crack… with a twist. A synchronized swimming routine – without any water. How did they come to this conclusion? Lord only knows. But the strange string of thought that lead them to this moment certainly paid off.

They take to the stage in nothing but speedos and swim caps, and dive into a routine that includes one of them “floating” on the surface. Those swim caps sure came in handy!

The team make a tight circle and lift one of them up in the air. They spin gracefully (well, relatively gracefully) to the sound of The Radetzky March, Op. 228 by Andre Rieu and Johan Strauss Orchestra.

The crowd is already laughing, and they’ve just gotten started.

They then dive to their right, one after the other and already the audience is loving it. Seven pairs of feet break the surface of their “water”, which is just a folded silver tarp stretched across the stage.

Kicking and splitting, they move their feet in sync (well, mostly). What a truly elegant sport this is.

While the performance is simply a parody, you have to hand it to them. It takes incredible strength and balance to pull this off, even if it’s not a real synchronized swimming routine! Arguably, it’s even more challenging for them to be lifting each other up without the buoyancy of water to help them.

Just look at how muscular these guys are. The performance may be a joke, but you can tell they came really well prepared for this!

Next they form a line and sway fluidly from side to side. Striking poses every now and then.

These guys are true entertainers. Drawing both laughter and applause, they dive off one by one on opposing sides. Listen to that crowd!

But wait, is that a fin swimming their way?

That iconic, all too familiar eerie tune plays, but one unlucky swimmer doesn’t to notice until it’s too late. Swimming along side him is a “shark”. One of the biggest and deadliest ocean predators!

He screams with fear – but good thing his buddies are there to save him! Two guys dive in and attempt to fight off the deadly shark. It puts up a good fight, but is no match for the team of swimmers.

Their hilarious routine comes to a triumphant end once the shark is defeated. Kudos to these hilarious performers!

Aren’t those YouTube deep dives the best? Another swimming pun, I know, I’m sorry.
