Penny traveled all the way from California to Minneapolis, Minnesota to see the famous Christopher Hopkins – aka The Makeover Guy – at his “appearance studio.”

She wanted a new look – and boy did she get one! In fact, she’s virtually unrecognizable after her transformation.

Penny started out with curly reddish-blonde hair and graying roots that had grown out for at least a couple of months.

But if she had decided to go gray before, she’s certainly not headed in that direction anymore!

As many clients do, Penny put her head in the hands of the master stylist who is known for bringing out people’s best features. Giving Hopkins carte blanche is usually the best bet.

A cut and color transformation (with a makeup session) at his studio will run you roughly $700, so letting him do his thing is the best way to get the most for your money.

Hopkins is a former singer, dancer, and on-air personality-turned hairstylist. And he specializes in helping men and women over the age of 40 reinvent themselves.

He even wrote a book on how women over 45 can “stage their comeback.”

With over 1 million views in less than a year, it’s clear that people are loving Penny’s makeover.

And – most importantly – so is Penny. In fact, she was stunned when she saw herself for the first time.

“It’s like an angel came down from Heaven and said “what wish do you want?” – and there it is!”

Hopkins’ videos are great because you don’t have to wait until the end to see the final product. A few seconds in we see Penny looking like a whole new woman.

“More than enjoying this makeover, I think her reaction makes this my all-time favorite video. To see her shock and surprise when looking in the mirror at herself is priceless. Christopher and [his] team do a wonderful job,” said one commenter.

She received a haircut of a couple of inches as well as lots of layers to give her some volume at the top of her head in the areas that had previously been dragged down by her heavy curls.

Now her curls are waves and she loves that they’re fluffy and “wild. ”

Nothing remains of her former color as her hair is now a beautiful auburn color. Some highlights give it dimension and it even looks like it has a stylish rose gold tint.

“I’ve always wanted this color hair,” Penny exclaims as she tosses and teases her fabulous new locks.

Commenters were truly surprised by just how well the hair and makeup brought out a feature they hadn’t previously noticed – her striking blue eyes.

“Oh my. She looks stunning. Her eyes are so beautiful against that hair color. Even her personality changed,” remarked one YouTube viewer.

As for her makeup, it stayed in the neutral range. The makeup artist may have been a little heavy-handed with the bronzer, but it does add to that sun-kissed look.

“Look at me! It’s a dream come true,” says Penny as Hopkins shows her the new cut.

The key to the cut, by the way, is shaping the bottom and creating a lot of interior layers.

“WOW – just WOW!!! She looks amazing after her make-over. The color sets off her eyes and she looks 20 years younger and just so stunning. Love this makeover!!!” gushed another commenter.

It was another win for The Makeover Guy – and an even bigger one for Penny herself.
