Police officer joins school dance and absolutely steals the show

Officer Ryan Tillman absolutely loved his work at the Don Lugo High School in California.

He worked there for yours as the school resource officers and has plenty of good memories of his tenure there, but unfortunately, not everything lasts forever. The police officer was offered a promotion, a new opportunity that he himself called a huge blessing. Officer Tillman was about to become a Chino Police Corporal!

However, his new role in the police department would also mean that Officer Tillman wouldn’t be working at the school anymore, but his goodbye definitely wasn’t a sad moment – it was an absolutely amazing one!

Officer Tillman wasn’t really in the mood for an emotional goodbye ceremony, so he decided to do something special for all of his students.

What better way to say goodbye than to say goodbye while dancing?

“I wanted to go out with a bang so I was like what better way to go out than with doing a dance,” the officer told NBC LA.

He got into a large conspiracy with the school’s dance team as well as the principal, and it didn’t take long before the police officer and the whole dance team choreographed an entire dance together.

The goal was to give a secret performance at the school gymnasium for all Don Lugo High School employees and students.

The video starts with the police officer in the middle of the room, with a squad of background dancers behind him. The first notes of the catchy song “Lip Gloss” from Lil Mama start to hit, and then all of them surprise the audience with a stunning and enthralling performance.

Even though it’s definitely not easy to dance, the police officer definitely impressed!

Let’s face it – an adult dancing around in front of a room full of teenagers, that’s a pretty brave idea. But as you can see in the video, Officer Tillman is definitely quite talented and has the audience erupting in cheers!

After a little bit, we get a throwback to the nineties with a music change to “U Can’t Touch This”.

MC Hammer would definitely be proud! Throughout the entire performance, the police officer and his talented dance squad perform a mixture of other songs, and he really does it quite well. He also moves and boogies around in his police gear!

According to reporters of NBC LA, the police officer’s main goal was just to show his appreciation to everyone he’s worked with and seen over the past years.

It’s also no secret that there’s quite some controversy regarding the police lately, and he wanted to shine a positive light.

In fact, he even founded his own organization, Breaking Barriers United, to improve relationships between law enforcement and the community.

Officer Tillman’s school dance went viral on YouTube with almost 5 million views!

“Besides you being fine officer, your dance moves was so relaxed. You have great chemistry with those kids and I’m sure you will be missed as years to come. Great job being an active hero in a positive way within your community,” one person commented.

“You can tell he is very much loved by his students,” another wrote.

This goodbye definitely still wasn’t easy and very emotional, but it’s a joyful moment that nobody will forget.
