Puppy howls to wake siblings – internet in stiches when he sounds like Chewbacca

Puppies are adorable! This is something that will never change, not even after a thousand years!

They possess an oozing charm that makes them irresistible. They are bite-sized balls of cuteness that everyone gushes over.

Just cuddling a puppy can make you feel like you’re living on cloud nine, but sometimes they come with some unique characteristics that will make you adore them even more.

For instance, have you ever heard a husky puppy howl?

You probably have, but has their howl ever reminded you of a fictional movie character?

Well, get ready to experience just that with this cute husky pup!

While the rest of the gang are lying on their cozy bed having a deep sleep, there is one member of the litter whose eyes are wide open.

He is not letting his siblings enjoy their tour in dreamland. So, he decides to cut their trip short by howling.

He howls with all his might trying to wake his brothers and sisters up. But it isn’t just a simple howl, because we hear something else. Something all too familiar…

This puppy howls just like Chewbacca!

For those who don’t know (which we doubt there’s anyone that doesn’t) Chewbacca is one of the most adored fictional characters from the multi-billion dollar movie franchise, “Star Wars.”

The mighty pup’s howl sounds just like Chewbacca does when he talks.

Of course, the looks aren’t quite the same. Chewbacca is known to be a long-legged dog-looking creature, not to mention his exaggeratedly hairy physique.

Either way, this puppy is equally as cute as the character, if not even a little more so.

Chewbacca, also known by his nickname, Chewie, is a Wookie warrior from the planet Kashyyyk and he is probably the most popular animal-like character from the movie.

Wookies are known to be taller, stronger, and hairier than humans and other humanoid species.

Another fun-fact is Chewbacca was based on a real dog.

His character is based on one of director George Lucas’s Alaskan Malamutes, named Indiana.

The name Chewbacca is actually a derivation of “sobaka” — the Russian word for dog.

According to Wookieepedia (the Star Wars Wiki), George Lucas said:

I had an Alaskan Malamute when I was writing the film. A very sweet dog, she would always sit next to me when I was writing. And when I’d drive around, she’d sit in the front seat.

A Malamute is a very large dog—like a hundred and thirty pounds and bigger than a human being and very long-haired. Having her with me all the time inspired me to give Han Solo a sidekick who was like a big, furry dog. Not quite like a dog, but intelligent.”

So, was our little husky friend really trying to wake up the pack?

Well, that could be the case… then again, maybe not. According to HuskyOwner.com:

“Huskies may howl as a result of boredom, loneliness, lack of attention, hunger, playfulness, excitement, or many other reasons.”

The website goes on to say that they get this hilariously vocal trait from their ancestors. No, not the Wookie.

“Huskies howl as their main form of communication thanks to their wolf ancestors. Howling is easier to detect in the distance than barking, making it easier to find each other. Huskies continue to howl, whine, and “talk” today because of their ancestors.”
