Saddest looking cat finds the purrfect home, owners go the extra mile to make him feel loved

When looking for a pet, what do you consider the most important factors to affect your choice? Is it the age of the animal? Maybe it has to be pretty and cute? Should it just be healthy and friendly?

Well, for Christopher and Georgina, a Stroud, Gloucestershire, couple, none of the above play any significant role in their decision to adopt an animal.
A few years back, they adopted a 16-year old kitty that, despite her age, was still pretty playful, and decided to give her a forever home. Unfortunately, the elderly cat got sick after five months with them and her illness proceeded so quickly that she died soon after she was diagnosed.
Although the couple knew they couldnât have seen this coming, and knowing that they did their best to give her as much love and joy as they could during her last months, they were still devastated.

Soon after the catâs passing, the couple started looking online for cats that needed a home. However, their priority wasnât to find a beautiful, healthy, young cat. They preferred to take home with them a disabled cat or one that for some reason faced difficulty in finding a family to love her.
And thatâs when the âtummy and gummyâ brothers came into play!
As they were looking on the RSPCA website, they came across an unusual pair: Toby and Quinton. The two cats had some health issues and wouldnât be separated from each other, so these two factors made it very difficult for them to find a home. However, for Georgina and Christopher, this was exactly what they were looking for!
âI saw them on the RSPCA website and fell in love with their sweet little faces,â Georgina told MeowAF â a website dedicated to kitty news.

Toby was six years old and was suffering from EDS, âa congenital condition that can cause animals and people to have unusually stretchy, loose, and fragile skin because of a lack of collagen.â This would potentially cause several health problems to the kitty because of the weight of the excess skin that hangs up to his knees.
Quinton, on the other hand, was a seven-year-old cat that had had all his teeth removed because of an abscess in his mouth. This meant that it was difficult for him to chew his food and brought along many challenges.
Although the two kittiesâ conditions were rare and challenging for anyone who wished to be their parent, and although it was hard to find someone who wanted to adopt them both, when Christopher and Georgina met them, they absolutely fell in love with them!

They soon took them home, but things didnât seem to work out at first. Toby and Quinton were so shy and scared that they spent the first few weeks under the bed. Little by little, they got to know their new family and loved their new home. Now, theyâre as happy as a cat can be!
Weâre glad these two special kitties found a new family for the rest of their lives!
