There is possibly nothing better than watching a fierce little kid in their element, fully embracing their talents. Whether they are singing, painting, or playing a sport — there’s nothing more fulfilling than watching a child chase their dreams.

For this one little girl in particular, her passion was dancing. And she was great at it. During this special performance, she reminded every adult in the room just how important it is to have fun while pursuing your dreams.

This girl goes by the name Roxy Brennan and she is just 5-years-old. She recently participated in a dance competition and brought some seriously fierce energy and attitude to her performance.

Even though she is only 5-years-old, her dancing talents are far beyond her years. There’s no doubt she is already advanced in the craft.

Brennan decided to dance to the smash hit “Maniac” from the film Flashdance for the 2019 Baltimore Kids Artistic Revue Dance Competition.

If you don’t know, Flashdance was the third highest grossing film in the United States in 1983. It is directed by Adrian Lynne and stars Jennifer Beals. In it, she plays a nightclub dancer who aspires to be a professional ballerina.

Since the film was such a dance-drived hit, the soundtrack naturally produced a lot of great hit songs — one of those being “Maniac.” The song is about a woman finding her strength and power, so it can be a pretty fierce song. Brennan exhibited the message of the song loud and clear, with sassy dance moves and complete confidence. She looked as if she’d been doing it for years!

Her routine started off very strong and had a great energy from the very start — promising! And not only were her razor sharp moves on point, but she was also super detail-oriented and put so much thought and preciseness into her facial expressions. Halfway through the routine and it was quite clear that this song was made just for her.

The routine was nowhere near simple either. She went out of her way to whip out some seriously complex moves too, and even though they were complicated, she totally nailed ’em!

So much effort and passion was put into each move as if it was the last and for the audience, it was totally felt. Her spins and splits were absolutely on point.

She stayed completely engaged throughout the entire performance and proved he effortless stage presence that she was born with. She also wore an adorable, 80s-inspired costume that featured a silver, bedazzled top.

She lit up the stage and garnered a ton of cheers, it was almost overwhelming how much people loved the performance!

The dance was choreographed by Jesse Beaudoin, who clearly must have given great instruction as well. Little Roxy was clearly amazing at following, too! What a power team!

Brennan ended the performance the same way she started it — very strong. And if you did not guess it already, she totally won in her category. Well deserved! Watch the full performance below.
