Bystander pulls out camera to film when security guard starts approaching stray dog in the mall

Dogs aren’t called man’s best friend for nothing. However, a lot of people are afraid of stray dogs. Sometimes it’s justified, and other times it’s not. Keep in mind that stray pets often suffer from starvation and different injuries. They won’t attack you unless they feel threatened.

Take the adorable stray puppy who walked into the Philippines mall as a perfect example. He courageously walked in looking for a place to warm up and someone nice to pet him. We bring you a heart-warming story about a doggo who entered the Vista Mall Taguig as a stray dog and stayed as a lucky fellow who had just nailed his first job.

You wouldn’t normally expect a stray, four-legged, furry pal wandering around the mall, but that’s the type of surprise shoppers encountered at a mall in the Philippines

The dog’s unusual visit happened in November 2020. Maybe the whole event would have gone unnoticed if one man didn’t seal the deal by recording the dog’s unusual journey. Jan Mart Calimpong, a man who was doing regular shopping that day, was intrigued by the dog who seemed to be on his own in the middle of the mall.

Doggo was calm and walked around looking for a friend. Calimpong called the security guard and recorded everything that happened later on.

In an interview with The Dodo, Calimpong said that “it was unusual”

We bet it was. A shopping center might seem like an awesome, well-lit, comfortable place, full of amazing things to buy. Every store tempts its customers, promising magical moments. We’ve always known that people feel that way, but seeing a dog following the same path is a bit unusual.

Calimpong found the dog lying in the middle of Vista Mall, unbothered by people passing by. The security guard didn’teven notice the puppy at first.

After people brought it to the security’s attention, the unexpected guest was escorted out

Maybe you expect to read now that the security officer was harsh with the dog, but no. Rommel Antonio Francisco, the security guard to handle the dog was incredibly sweet with him.

Rommel chose to pet the dog and cuddle with him for a while instead of forcing him out. Calimpong filmed everything, then posted the video to his Facebook page. Overnight, the dog became a viral sensation.

Needless to say that the security guard became a hero. A lot of people were happy with the way things unfolded, and lovely comments poured all over Rommel. One viewer commented: “You got a lifetime customer in me!” In total, Calimpong’s video received hundreds of thousands of views and likes.

To make things even better, the doggy is now being fostered by the mall’s security team

Officials named the dog Dogdog, and he is very loved. One of the guards commented: “Dogdog always joins us whenever we have our guard mounting”.

Looks like Dogdog wants the job very much. A mall in Taguig City later adopted ten more dogs to be part of the security team. We love how one small event led to something so beautiful and useful for the community.

We can all learn a valuable lesson from this: treat others the way you want to be treated – and that goes for dogs, too.

Make sure to learn how to safely deal with the stray dog so that both of you are protected

Stray animals are cautious of humans. Make sure to gain their trust if you want to feed them or take care of them.

More importantly, check if the dog has an open wound. Different parasites, such as ticks, fleas, hookworms, and roundworms can be contracted by humans. Take care, and you should be fine. Don’t let those precautions stop you from giving the furry friends all the love they need.
