Dogs have an unwavering sense of empathy. They can actually feel a change in body language if that’s a dog yawning, whimpering, or tucking their tail between their legs. All of those indicate to another dog that something is wrong.

If you need a real-life example of a dog showing empathy, this story is one to answer your every question.

One unfortunate day in Muscoy, California a German Sheppard was struck by a car and left to die on the side of a busy road. That’s when a Nobel stray dog found the injured German Sheppard and stood by her side until hopefully, someone came to help her.

A mass of cars passed the two dogs without thinking once to help them.

Until a hero named Faith Easdale, a member of Dream Fetchers: Project Rescue, went immediately to rescue these two lost dogs. While Faith went to go save these sweet helpless dogs cars passing honked at her to get Faith out of the way. The German Sheppard now named Marley had a pregnant belly full of puppies. After a young man helped Faith get both Marley and her trusty sidekick now named Murphy into her car, Faith went directly to the vet.

Marley was under extreme stress and pain but faithful Murphy laid right by her side ensuring she’d be okay.

Marley got x-rays at the vet where they found out she had a shattered elbow and one fractured leg. Marley received two casts on her injured legs and with her birth date any day now treatment for her legs was bit postponed.

But, Momma Marley had a successful c-section giving birth to 10 beautiful healthy pups.

Her best friend Murphy got the clue that Marley was in good hands and was ready to go play outside. The I.C.A.R.E rescue group knew to find a happy home for the kind-hearted Murphy. Marley and her pups found their loving foster home with Faith Easdale and are now happier than ever.

It’s crazy to think maybe without Marley’s good friend Murphy she might not have made it.

Murphy’s relentless support kept Marley in good spirits and even saved both of their lives thanks to Dream Fetchers! Marley is living the good life with both legs healed with her loving owner Faith. Faith even keeps in contact with all of Marley’s puppy owners to keep everyone updated. How sweet is that!

It’s incredible how powerful compassion is especially for our furry friends.

With some tender loving care, all of these dogs who were once strayed and scared are now wagging endlessly with bright smiles. Marley and Murphy’s story continues to warm our hearts, while even teaching us a few lessons. It’s important to check on one another to ensure no one is alone. Murphy’s kind spirit is an example of a true hero. We’re so happy to know he’s no longer a stray, although he is an outstanding public servant. Murphy deserves a place to call home and now with Marley in a loving home he can sleep peacefully.
