Headstrong ‘little lawyer’ defends herself when mom accuses her of touching dog’s food

Anyone who has raised children will surely know that the toddler years are some of the hardest.

Kids are starting to understand the world around them more, but aren’t yet able to articulate everything they want to say.

That is certainly true for one little girl from Jacksonville, Florida.

Lily was in the kitchen with her mother when, thinking her mom was preoccupied elsewhere, the little girl started playing with their dogs’ food.

Whether it was from the sound of the kibble moving around in the metal bowl, or just from turning around to check on her daughter, Lily’s mom caught her in the act.

Either way, Lily knew she shouldn’t have been playing with the food and decided to deny the act entirely.

Her mother informed the child that she had literally just watched her touch the food but Lily vehemently denied it.

Though she couldn’t properly announce her innocents, she tried her very best.

Her argument consisted of only 3 legible words, but they were enough that her mother knew exactly what she was trying to say.

“No…Touch…” and, “Food” were the only words the toddler said that could be understood, but her attitude about the situation backed up what she was trying to say.

The were plenty of garbled words mixed in as Lily tried to defend herself, though none of them were particularly understandable.

The child obviously did not like the accusations her mother was throwing her way as her responses got louder and louder throughout the confrontation.

Lily’s mom continued to tell that child that she had seen playing her with the kibble and that even her dad had seen it too.

That’s when her husband came into the frame to back up his wife.

“You touched the food.” said the girl’s father.

“No, I didn’t touch the food!” is what we can only assume the girl wanted to say.

Even though it was two against one now, Lily continued to deny the claim.

She was clearly frustrated that her father was not on her side in the scenario, and followed him into the living room to continue yelling at him.

Throughout the entire interaction, Lily maintained her denials and always kept a very serious look on her face, if her mother hadn’t witnessed her doing it, Lily surely would have won that argument.

Things eventually cooled down when, as Lily followed her father to repeat her denials, she walked past the television playing a show she was interested in.

All arguments were forgotten as the screen held Lily’s attention captive.

Though Lily is just a toddler, probably no older than 2 or 3, she made a very convincing argument and managed to keep her composure throughout.

It would not be surprising if Lily decided to join a debate club, or even decide to become a lawyer in the future, she clearly has both passion and the gift of the gab.
