Payton Kemp has been singing since he was three-years-old. Even as a toddler, he was great. And since then, he’s only gotten so much better.

Kemp has always dreamed of becoming a famous singer, like Ed Sheeran. At home, he would sing, and his parents could tell that he was talented.

So Kemp decided to film his performances and put the songs on YouTube. His videos became ever more popular. So he started singing at events. And every time he sang, he would become more sure that this was his main purpose in life.

Then he learned that his school was holding a talent contest. He knew that this was another opportunity to show off his voice to the world.

So he started learning the piano chord to one of his favorite Ed Sheeran songs and practiced a little every day.

The school teacher introduced Kemp. All the kids in the room were familiar with his videos and were eager to see if he was as good in person as online.

The crowd gave Kemp an enthusiastic applause as he walked to the piano.

He sat down and prepared himself for the performance.

Then he started playing the opening notes to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. The opening lyrics “When your legs don’t work like they used to before,” sounded so heartfelt.

Many kids started cheering just at this line. But much more was to come.

Kemp then sang again. When he paused, the kids cheered again. Kemp’s confidence grew with these cheers.

With the lyric “And darling, I will be loving you ’til we’re 70,” his voice became much more powerful, prompting even more cheers.

From that moment on, Kemp’s playing and singing were perfect. He never missed a beat.

The loudest cheer came when Kemp finished playing. His performance had entranced the entire room!

And the icing on the cake was that Kemp would win first place in that contest. Everyone could tell that he deserved it.

Luckily, Kemp’s mom was filming the entire thing. Pretty soon, the video appeared on Kemp’s YouTube channel. It soon went viral.

To date, it has gained over 1.1 million views. It also has more than 12,000 likes.

Since this performance, Kemp has kept on following his dream.

He has been singing for crowds of people whenever he can. He has also become an actor. Most recently, he has released a music video for his cover of Never Enough from The Greatest Showman.

This year, Kemp will be 20 years old. It’s amazing to think that he’s this good, and he’s still so young!

If you think about it, Kemp has already achieved much. As a teenager, he was able to gain over a million views on YouTube. How many teenagers get to do that? Hopefully, in the future, he will be able to release albums of his own original work for the entire world to enjoy.
