Woman recalls “My neighbor left her son with me and never came back so I raised him as my own”
If you are a parent, probably the most important thing to you is the safety and welfare of your children. But sadly, that is not always the case. Fortunately, when this happens, there are people like Rosalinda to step in and provide for these children when their biological parents can’t.
Rosalinda unexpectantly becomes a mother in her 20s
Age 70 now, Rosalinda had a very dramatic life in her 20s. In a video on TikTok, the elderly mom shared how she had come to take in a young boy abandoned by his mother.
She had agreed to watch the young boy while his mom went out to do a little shopping. But she soon realized that the boy’s mother wasn’t coming back. What was supposed to be only one hour eventually turned into 18 years.
Rosalinda cared for the boy until he was 18
Doctors had told Rosalinda that her chances of having a baby were slim. So, she decided to take the boy into her home and raise him as her own. She realized that she was the right person for the job at the time, as she explained in her TikTok video:
“That little boy stayed with me through my marriage that I’ve spoken about before until he was 18 when he found his dad and left to start a new life with his father – and maybe his mother, I’m not sure.”
A lifetime of fostering
Of course, Rosalinda could have stopped there, but once her foster son was gone, she found that she was missing something in her life. As a foster parent, you have a great opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life and can help shape them into the adults they eventually become.
Even if it is something as simple as giving them a loving environment in which to grow. All children need nurturing and that is what Rosalinda gave her foster son, and now that he was gone, she felt a void in her life. So, she did what only came naturally for her.
“I decided to become a foster parent. My first foster child was a little boy called Adeola. Over the years I’ve fostered many children and that led up to me getting my daughter,” Rosalinda said in the TikTok video.
Adopting a daughter
In 1990, Rosalinda adopted her daughter Lola. Lola has been by her side ever since with Rosalinda describing her a “such a beautiful little baby.” Now in her 30’s, Lola takes time out of her life to spend with her mom and has appeared in some of her TikTok videos.
Rosalinda tells stories about her life on TikTok
With over 57,000 followers, Rosalinda has become somewhat of a celebrity on TikTok, where she relates stories about her life and the drama she has experienced. This includes when she found her husband at the time in bed with her sister.
